The Story |
| |
|
Homer Long was nominated by the OSDE (
Oklahoma State Department of Education ) as a blue
ribbon school based on its test scores.
Homer Long staff had to
fill out a "lengthy" application.
That application was sent to the USDE ( United States Department of Education ) as a possible Blue
Ribbon School.
The USDE, after looking at many applications,
selected Homer Long as one of the few schools to be a No Child
Left Behind Blue Ribbon School.
The USDE asked one teacher and
one administrator to attend the Blue Ribbon Ceremonies in
Washington D.C. in order to receive their award.
The award is one
of the highest awards the United States Department of Education
hands out to schools that either score extremely high, or have greatly
improved test scores.
This is the first and only Blur Ribbon in the
history of Guymon Schools! |
