Questionnaire |
| |
|
1. How long have you been a band director and
what do you enjoy the most about your job? |
|
27 Years. I enjoy the
concerts the most. |
|
6 Years. I was a school
administrator. |
| |
|
2. What inspired you to become a band director? |
|
A love for music and being
in a successful band program as a student. |
| |
|
3. What techniques do you use to motivate
students? |
|
Positive feedback. I try to
provide playing opportunities outside the band room such as attending
band camp. |
| |
|
4. Which is your most favorite piece of music the
band is working on right now? |
|
African Bell Carol |
| |
|
5. Describe your most positive teaching
experience. |
|
It's great watching your
students be successful. For three years in Arrow I had more students
make the District Honor Band than any other school. |
| |
|
6. Describe your most negative. |
|
It's never fun dealing with
scheduling conflicts. I've had half my band students unable to do a
concert when school events get rescheduled. |
| |
|
7. What events do you and the Junior High band
look forward to the most this year? |
|
Going to the band (large
group contest). |
| |
|
8. What do you think is needed in order to improve
the band program? |
|
We need to have a Jazz Band
be a part of the band curriculum. I'd also like to see another band
director be a part of the staff so we'd have three band directors. |
