SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

January 8, 2008

The Guymon Board of Education held a Special Board Meeting on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the Administration Office.

President Dahl called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Dahl requested a roll call and board members Scot Dahl, Dana Lutz, Mitzi Dain and Elvia Hernandez were present.   Superintendent Doug Melton and Asst. Superintendent Mike Parkhurst were also present.

Lutz made a motion under Section 987, Paragraph E of the School Laws of Oklahoma, that Guymon Public Schools declare an emergency on the roof at the Junior High, seconded by Dain.  Motion carried 4-0.

Hernandez moved to adjourn to Executive Session, seconded by Dain.  Motion carried 4-0.  Board went into Executive Session.  Dain made a motion to return from Executive Session to Regular Session, seconded by Lutz.  Motion carried 4-0.  Hernandez explained the reason for the Executive Session was to discuss resignations, hiring of certified personnel, non-certified personnel, student related actions, other personnel actions and/or issues related to security and acts of terrorism for the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 school years.  Those present were Scot Dahl, Elvia Hernandez, Mitzi Dain and Dana Lutz. 

Hernandez made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Dain.  Motion carried 4-0 and the meeting was adjourned.
