Cruzan fired an 84, which included a 40 on the back nine to take the title.

“Jade overcame the weather,” Guymon coach Jerry Hill said. “The weather was bad, and there was a lot of wind.”
Chelsea Montano returned and scored a 108, including a front-nine 53. And Cytorie Clark fired a season-best 112, consistent with a pair of 56s.
A pair of Forgan golfers was second and third, respectively, as Ashley Underwood carded an 89 and Kalli Ritterbush posted a 95.
Forgan won the overall team championship, with a score of 388. Host Laverne was second and Sayre was third, a considerable distance behind the Bulldogs.
Guymon will participate Tuesday in the Clinton Invitational.

Boys golf endures rough weekend
GARDEN CITY, Kan.  — The Guymon High School boys’ golf team finished last in a field of eight teams at the Garden City Invitational Saturday at Southwind Country Club.
The Tigers posted a composite score of 385.
In all fairness to Guymon, the Tigers were the smallest school based on enrollment size — taking on a heap of Class 6A Kansas programs.
Trey Fankhouser scored Guymon’s low round with an 89, including a back-nine 44. Dakota Wilson was consistent with a pair of 46s for a 92 overall.
Caleb McMurry fired a 45 on the front nine en route to a 96. Andrew McCulloch was 15 strokes better on the back nine as part of a 106.
Trever Lutz carded a 108 and Josh Edenborough a 115 to round out the Tiger scores.
Aaron Mapel from Dodge City was the meet medalist, posting a score of 76.
“I was disappointed with the way we played,” Guymon head boys’ golf coach Jerry Cooper said. “We should have played better than we did. We had to keep the ball in play more.”
Windy conditions and a links-style golf course with lots of thick sagebrush didn’t help the Tigers’ cause.
Hays won the overall team title with a composite of 323, which was seven strokes better than Maize and 11 better than Hutchinson.
Guymon will travel to the Elk City Invitational for a meet there Wednesday.
