OKLAHOMA CITY — The Guymon High School boys’
soccer team defeated Harding Fine Arts, 10-0, at Taft Stadium on
Friday afternoon.
Harding Fine Arts, since the school dropped its
girls’ program before the season, played with a co-ed mix of
girls and boys.
The Class 4A sixth-ranked Tigers raised their
record to 4-0 heading into today’s Chickasha Tournament.
The game was halted in the 32nd minute due to the
state-mandated mercy rule.
Tobias Heib netted a whopping five goals and Omar
Mesta two. Ulises Caba, Kip Armstrong and Alfonso Espinosa also
scored for the Tigers.
Jesus Uribé directed the offense to the tune of
four assists.
Guymon’s Jesus Valenzuela needed to make just two
saves. Meanwhile, the Tigers posted 17 shots on goal. The Tigers
also recorded five corner kicks.
Today, Guymon will open up the Chickasha
Tournament against Class 6A Enid at 9 a.m. at the Chickasha
Soccer Complex. The girls will play host Chickasha starting at
7:30 a.m.
