Prom WILL still be held on April 21 at the Texas County Activity Center, EVEN IF Guymon Schools is not in session during the Teacher Walk-Out.

All dates that are going to Prom that are not a Junior or a Senior need to fill out a form from Mr. Coble.  

 

Prom tickets will be available to purchase after Presidents' Day (February 20.)  The cost is $55 until March 1st when the price goes up to $65.  All out of town, or underclassmen dates are $30.  See Mr. Coble in Room 106 either before school or after school to purchase (beginning on February 20.)

 

Basic Prom guidelines:  Prom is sponsored by the Junior class annually.  The initial attendees are juniors and seniors but they may bring dates.  The official school ruling on prom dates is as follows: 

 - They must fill out a form and be approved by Mr. Williams.  He has the right to deny access of a date if he feels it is necessary.

​ - Prom attendees must be at least in the 9th grade and not older than 20.

 - Prom dates cannot have dropped out of high school.

Dress Code Guidelines :

Prom Dress Code

The prom dress code applies to both in school and out of school attendees.  Guymon High School students that bring out of school (or out of town) dates are responsible for making the dress code known to their dates. Any student, from Guymon High School or other, will be asked to leave if they are in violation of the dress code. 

The Junior/Senior Prom is a formal event and formal dress is required. 

*Gentlemen are required to wear a tuxedo or a suit.

*Ladies’ dresses must meet the following guidelines:  

ü  Dresses must not be shorter than mid-thigh, at the shortest point.  This rule applies to dresses that have slits as well.  Please wear compression shorts or appropriate undergarments under dresses.

ü  All cut-outs are allowed as long as it is covered with mesh and covers as much as a two-piece. 

ü  Two-piece dresses are allowed but the gap must be no more than three inches.  Strictly enforced. 

ü  Dresses must not be low-cut in the front to show cleavage.  Sweetheart necklines, strapless and spaghetti straps are allowed. No deep cleavage.

ü  Dresses cannot be see-through in such a manner to violate the above guidelines. 

****To get your prom ticket (even out of town guests) you must get your dress pre-approved.  You will not get a ticket without pre-approval! You can send pictures to:  laurie.brooks@guymontigers.com.
