Today, we're recognizing Loire Aubrey, Principal at Prairie Elementary! 🐯
With an incredible 43 years of experience in education and 29 years at Guymon Public Schools, Mrs. Aubrey has dedicated decades to serving students, supporting teachers, and helping young learners succeed. She originally came to Guymon for an elementary principal position serving Carrier, Salyer, and Northeast.
📚 What makes her most proud? The tremendous effort Prairie's teachers are putting into improving student reading scores! Their hard work and commitment to literacy are helping build stronger foundations for student success.

October is Principal's Month, and we're celebrating the dedicated leaders who make a difference across Guymon Public Schools!
Today, we're recognizing Kasey Meyer, Principal at Homer Long Elementary and Carrier Elementary!
A Guymon native with 35 years of experience in education, Mrs. Meyer began her journey with GPS as a teacher in the late 1990s before returning in 2017 as a principal.
📚 What makes her most proud? The focus on building strong literacy foundations for kindergarten students! Through daily intervention and enrichment opportunities, along with the addition of Empower Hour Literacy, students are making great progress in developing the skills they need to become strong readers.
🎄 Favorite school traditions: At Homer Long, she loves Kindergarten Christmas Activity Day and the Kindergarten Rodeo! Both events bring together students, families, and volunteers for fun-filled experiences that have become beloved traditions. At Carrier, Pre-K Graduation is another favorite as students celebrate an exciting milestone before heading to kindergarten! 🎓
❤️ What does she hope students remember? That their teachers cared about them and made learning fun.

October is National Principals Month, and we're celebrating the dedicated leaders who make a difference across Guymon Public Schools every day!
Today, we're recognizing Chad Foster, Principal of Academy Elementary School! Mr. Foster has spent 14 years in education, including the last seven with Guymon Public Schools!
Mr. Foster originally came to Guymon to coach football, but it was the people and relationships he built that convinced him this was the place for him.
One thing he's especially proud of is the hard work students and staff have put into the district's literacy initiative. His favorite school tradition is Academy's Field Day, where students get to have fun, compete, and make memories together!
When asked what he hopes students remember about their time at Academy, Mr. Foster shared that he wants them to remember enjoying learning, looking forward to coming to school, and knowing they had someone they could always count on.

October is Principal's Month, and we're celebrating the incredible leaders who make a difference across Guymon Public Schools!
Today, we're shining the spotlight on Jackie Yell, Principal of Guymon Junior High School!
With 21 years in education and 18 years at GPS, Mrs. Yell has dedicated much of her career to helping students grow, succeed, and discover their potential.
💚 What makes her proud of GJHS?
The teachers and support staff who genuinely care about their students! Mrs. Yell loves seeing her team work to strengthen instruction while providing opportunities for students to explore their interests through athletics, electives, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
🐯 Favorite School Traditions:
She couldn't pick just one! The GJHS Thanksgiving Dinner, which brings nearly 500 students, staff, and guests together, and the annual Clash of Classes are two traditions she looks forward to!
💬 What does she hope students remember?
More than anything, Mrs. Yell hopes students leave GJHS knowing they were cared for, believed in, and encouraged to reach high expectations.

The Guymon High School Library is continuing its Christmas card community service project this year, and we would like to make sure our GHS graduates who are currently serving in the military receive a little extra holiday cheer from home!
We are asking our community to help us identify Guymon High School graduates who are currently serving on active duty or in the reserves.
If you know a GHS graduate who is currently serving and would appreciate receiving a Christmas card from Guymon High School, please complete the form below with their current mailing address:
