FAFSA Applications open December 1st, 2024

Filing the Free Application For Federal Student Aid is necessary for receiving Oklahoma Promise and Federal Student Aid and is required by many scholarship providers.

Oklahoma's Promise

Oklahoma's Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition.

To enroll in the Oklahoma's Promise program, the student must be:

  • Must be an Oklahoma resident.

  • Must enroll in the 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade in an Oklahoma High School (homeschool students must be the age of 13, 14, 15 or 16) and

  • a student whose parents' federal adjusted gross income does not exceed:

    • $60,000 with 1 or 2 dependent children OR

    • $70,000 with 3 or 4 dependent children OR

    • $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children.

Students may come by the counseling office to pick up an application or apply online at this OK Promise page.

Special income/enrollment provisions may apply to:

  • Children adopted from certain court-ordered custody and children in the custody of court-appointed legal guardians.

  • Taxable Social Security benefits based on the disability or death of the student's parent(s).

  • Students placed into DHS custody during the eighth, ninth, 10th or 11th grade who were unable to enroll in the program may enroll prior to their official date of high school graduation.

College Visit Policy

The best way to decide where you want to go to college is to visit college campuses!

Seniors wishing to visit a junior college, vocational school, college, or university will be allowed two (2) days during the school year.

Juniors will be allowed one (1) day. However, the following guidelines must be followed.

  • Pre-absence slips must be signed by all teachers, the counselor, and a parent/guardian, and must be turned in to the office at least three days prior to taking a college day.

  • Information sheets about institutions to be visited and signed by the Director of Admissions or Dean must be turned in to the office upon the student's return.

  • Many colleges have events on Saturdays.
