Guymon Public Schools is aware of the weather situation developing across the area and continues to monitor it closely both in regards to snow fall accumulation and wind chill. However, we also have learned from previous storms that even a slight shift in timing or precipitation type can dramatically change what we experience.
We want to provide as much information to our families as early and transparently as we can. At this time, our plans are:
🔸If a closure is needed, it will be a traditional snow day with NO distance or virtual learning.
🔸The district will make a final decision regarding the status of school for Friday by Thursday at 7 PM.
🔸The district will monitor through the weekend to determine any future closures.
As always, student safety is our top priority and guides all of our decisions. We will keep you informed as decisions are made.

🏛️💧 Guymon Students Shine at the Oklahoma State Capitol 💧🏛️
Earlier this week, Guymon High School students traveled to the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City to participate in Generation Citizen Civics Day, joining schools from across the state for a day focused on student-led civic engagement.
Students from Mr. Cox’s 4th hour Current Issues class were recognized with the Systemic Impact Award for their project titled “Water Conservation Awareness.” Throughout the semester, the class researched the importance of water conservation and water scarcity, with a specific focus on challenges facing the Oklahoma Panhandle region.
In addition to the class recognition, Jentry Baber was selected to participate in the lunchtime panel, where she answered questions and represented Guymon High School in front of students, educators, and civic leaders from across Oklahoma.
We are proud of our students for using their voices, applying classroom learning to real-world issues, and representing Guymon Public Schools with professionalism and purpose. 👏🐯
