🏛️💧 Guymon Students Shine at the Oklahoma State Capitol 💧🏛️

Earlier this week, Guymon High School students traveled to the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City to participate in Generation Citizen Civics Day, joining schools from across the state for a day focused on student-led civic engagement.

Students from Mr. Cox’s 4th hour Current Issues class were recognized with the Systemic Impact Award for their project titled “Water Conservation Awareness.” Throughout the semester, the class researched the importance of water conservation and water scarcity, with a specific focus on challenges facing the Oklahoma Panhandle region.

In addition to the class recognition, Jentry Baber was selected to participate in the lunchtime panel, where she answered questions and represented Guymon High School in front of students, educators, and civic leaders from across Oklahoma.

We are proud of our students for using their voices, applying classroom learning to real-world issues, and representing Guymon Public Schools with professionalism and purpose. 👏🐯

📣 Now Hiring Substitute Teachers & Paraprofessional Substitutes!
Guymon Public Schools is looking for dependable, caring individuals to join our team and support classrooms across the district.

Here’s what you need to know ⬇️

👩‍🏫 Substitute Teachers – $100/day
Substitute teachers teach in the classroom on their own, following lesson plans left by the teacher. This role is great for people who are confident leading a class and enjoy working independently with students.

🧩 Paraprofessional Substitutes – $75/day
Paraprofessional substitutes do NOT teach alone. Instead, they help support the classroom teacher, assist students, and help with daily activities. This is a wonderful option for individuals who want to work in schools, but prefer a support role rather than leading instruction.

Whether you’re a retired educator, a parent with flexible time, a college student, or someone looking to make a positive impact in our schools — we’d love to have you apply!

✈️ Aviation Takes Flight at GHS! 🚁

The 2025–26 school year marks the launch of our new Aviation Program, beginning with this year’s inaugural Drone Technology class powered by AOPA’s nationally recognized curriculum.

Students are gaining hands-on experience with drone tech, aviation history, STEM labs, and career pathways that can lead to future FAA certifications — all part of a four-year pathway designed to open doors in both piloted and unmanned aviation fields.

Earlier this month, the class visited the Guymon Airport for real-world learning and a closer look at aviation operations.

We’re excited to see this program grow and inspire the next generation of aviation professionals! 🐯✈️
